Utilizing Virtual Users

Simulate real-world voices and bridge collaboration gaps in your sessions.

Overview

The core purpose of Virtual Users is to help you simulate a voice and a perspective that is not yet actively in the conversation. Whether you are prepping for a client meeting, mapping out a new project, or seeking an external expert's opinion, this feature lets you bring those critical, missing viewpoints into your strategy sessions before you commit.

Note: This capability serves as an incredibly powerful simulation and benchmarking tool for anticipating responses and bridging immediate onboarding gaps. However, because these profiles are modeled from inferred public data, they represent a simulated starting point. Nothing replaces the high-fidelity, peer-validated baseline established when team members onboard themselves onto the Wethos platform.

How to incorporate Virtual Users

Open the Virtual Users tab

While inside an active Brainstorm or Breakout session, locate the Virtual Users tab in the icon rail on the right side of your workspace.

Create a profile

In the Virtual Users panel, click ＋ to add someone, then enter their details: first and last name, email, and optionally their company. WethosXO™ then performs a comprehensive search of publicly available, open-source professional information and analyzes it to compile a virtual profile of that person. Click Generate Profile when you are ready.

Tip: Because these profiles are built from public information, the detail of the simulation depends on the depth of the individual's public professional footprint.

Review the generated profile

The new virtual user appears in the panel alongside your other participants. Open their card to see the profile WethosXO™ generated: a Style Summary scoring them on the four scales (Ideas, Relational, Action, and Order), the traits and cognitive biases inferred for them, and an About Me section you can edit to add or remove details.

When to use Virtual Users

Pre-benchmark unonboarded team members

If a colleague or key stakeholder hasn't had the opportunity to complete their Wethos onboarding yet, you don't have to wait. Adding them as a Virtual User bridges the gap. It allows you to model their likely behavioral approach, giving you a structured starting point to anticipate how they might naturally approach ideas, take action, or raise questions.

Simulate actual external and client perspectives

Virtual Users move beyond generic, abstract roles to model actual, named leaders or stakeholders. Bring the simulated viewpoints of key clients, external partners, or specific industry figures directly into your workspace. By adding their virtual profile, you can pressure-test how they might evaluate a recommendation, anticipate the objections they could raise, or understand their likely response parameters.

Test group dynamics and "draft" collaborators

When designing a new project, initiative, or temporary task force, you can use Virtual Users to draft "ideal" collaborator profiles. Bring these prospective profiles into your space to examine how their work styles and cognitive profiles might mesh with your existing team dynamics before officially kicking off the project or committing resources.
