Persistent and Shared Conversations FAQ

Most commonly asked questions about persistent and shared conversations.

General Questions

What's the difference between shared and persistent conversations?

Persistent conversations refer to the ability to save and continue your conversation history with XO over time. Shared conversations are a type of persistent conversation that multiple team members can participate in and view together.

Are my conversations automatically saved?

Yes! All conversations with XO are now persistent by default. You can leave a conversation and return to it later with full context preserved.

Persistent Conversations

Where can I find my saved conversations?

  • Left Nav WethosXO → Conversations: View all your individual, private conversations with XO in one place
  • Team → WethosXO tab → Conversations: Access both shared team conversations and your private chats within that team context
  • User Profiles → WethosXO tab → Conversations: Find conversations specific to that team member (these remain private to you)

Can I rename my conversations?

Yes, you can rename any conversation you've started. Conversations are automatically named based on your discussion topics, but you can customize these names for better organization.

Can I delete conversations?

Yes, you can delete conversations you've created.

How long are conversations stored?

Conversations are stored indefinitely until you choose to delete them. There's no automatic expiration of your conversation history.

Will WethosXO remember everything from previous conversations?

Yes, XO remembers previous conversations within their specific contexts. When you return to a persistent conversation, XO has access to the full conversation history and can reference previous topics and context. However, information shared in an individual conversation with XO will not be known or mentioned in a different context (like a shared conversation).

Shared Conversations

Who can see shared conversations?

All members of the team where the shared conversation is taking place can see the full conversation history.

Who can manage shared conversations?

Currently, only the person who created the shared conversation can rename or delete it. Team administrators cannot manage conversations created by other team members.

Can I have a private conversation while in a team context?

Yes! You can start a new private conversation with XO even while you're in a team context. This conversation will be private to you and won't be visible to other team members.

Access and Navigation

Why do I only see my individual conversations in the XO left nav?

The left nav XO shows only your personal conversations with XO. To see team conversations (both shared and private within teams), you need to navigate to your specific team. In our next release you will be able to find all of your conversations in the XO left nav.

Privacy and Security

Are my conversations private by default?

Individual conversations are private to you. Team conversations can be either shared (visible to all team members) or private (visible only to you within the team context).

What happens when I delete a conversation?

When you delete a conversation, you'll no longer be able to access it.

Can team members see my private conversations within a team?

No. Private conversations within a team context are only visible to you, even though they're taking place within the team environment.
